"I have spent 7 out of the last 10 years of my son’s life away on deployment. This camp has made a significant impact on our relationship. Please find every way possible to expand this program, it is so needed in our community"

Military Teen Camps

Since 2011, our founder has partnered with University of Kentucky on 60+ camps serving over 3,000 military teens and their parents.

These camps provide high-adventure, team building experiences for military parents and their teenage children. The goal is to help them connect and work together during a parent’s deployment or reconnect after an extended absence. By spending focused time together, they learn to adapt to changes and increase their resilience.

The camps also target life skills such as self-responsibility, decision making, cooperation, responsible citizenship, and problem solving as parent-child duos work together to achieve joint goals through various activities and challenges.

The goals of this project are:

  • Camp Experiences: Offer camps for military parents and their teenage children to connect, build teams, and solve problems together.
  • Resiliency Skills: Enhance coping strategies, problem-solving, communication, and
adaptability in parent-child relationships through new and challenging situations, fostering a sense of shared achievement.
  • Support Systems: Create a safe and welcoming environment for military families to share their hopes, fears, dreams, and opportunities with others who have similar experiences.
  • Youth Awareness: Teach the importance of teamwork, effective communication, and
understanding the consequences of actions to promote self-responsibility and responsible
    citizenship.
  • Family Conversations: Encourage discussions about the military family experience to
strengthen family bonds and improve parent-child relationships.
